During the explosion of the reactor, a large amount of radioactive dust was taken over by a pine forest near the station on the road to Pripyat. A high dose of radiation led to the death of trees and staining of needles in red. The forest was bulldozed and buried. Now the forest is gradually recovering.
You can’t go to this forest. Also, the rule still applies that on the road from Pripyat through the Red Forest everyone must pass quickly without stops.
Road to Pripyat

Pripyat sign at the entrance to the city

It is better not to stand here for a long time.

It is not recommended to go on those rails that are in the photo. We were told about a girl-photographer who lay down on the rails and began to take pictures. Back at the checkpoint, radiation was found on her clothes and her pants and shoes were taken away.
