The city of Santiago de Compostela is located in the north of Spain, in Galicia. The Way of St. James ends in Santiago de Compostela.
Cathedral of Saint James
The Cathedral of Saint James was built between 1075 and 1211, and it houses the relics of Saint James. The church is very large — the cathedral is 100 meters long and 70 meters wide. Its maximum height is 75 meters. Inside the cathedral is the world’s largest censer, the Botafumeiro, which weighs 80 kg.

Since thousands of pilgrims arrive in Santiago every day, it’s advisable to book accommodation in advance.
Near the Cathedral of Saint James is the hotel Parador de Santiago – Hostal Reis Catolicos. The hotel is located in a 15th-century building where pilgrims have long stayed. The hotel features a beautiful inner courtyard, and many original details have been preserved in the building.
