A Boa Estrela Pension is a charming guesthouse in the center of Redondela. The pension is located right on the Camino de Santiago.
I stayed at A Boa Estrela Pension in a room for 35 euros with shared bathroom and toilet facilities.
The pension has a small kitchenette at the reception area where you can heat up food in the microwave or make tea or coffee. There’s also a real delight for pilgrims — a washing machine and a dryer. The pension also offers family rooms with a private bathroom.
When I checked in, the receptionist gave me a map of the city, told me where everything was, and explained the house rules. You can also get a stamp for your pilgrim passport here. The Wi-Fi at the pension is good, and the place is clean and cozy. There are many cafés and a park nearby, and a grocery store is located close by.
I had a small private room with a TV and air conditioning. Access to the room is via a code.
The only drawback of this pension is the thin walls — you’ll easily hear what your neighbors are up to.
My room at A Boa Estrela Pension
My small but cozy room at A Boa Estrela Pension. It’s simple and very clean, with a comfortable single bed, fresh towels neatly placed, and a modern wooden floor. The room has a minimalist style with charming coastal artwork on the walls, a bedside table with a lamp, and a TV mounted on the wall. Perfect for a pilgrim looking for a quiet and tidy place to rest after a long day on the Camino de Santiago

The window faced directly onto the Camino de Santiago.

Door and bedside table

A glimpse of the entrance area in my room at A Boa Estrela Pension. The space features a simple wooden coat rack with hangers and a bench for bags or clothes. There’s also a full-length mirror framed in natural wood, perfect for checking your outfit before heading out. The white door has clear signs with hotel information and check-out times. The light wood flooring and minimalist design create a fresh and welcoming atmosphere.

Facilities at A Boa Estrela Pension
There’s a washing machine and a dryer on the stair landing between the floors, costing 4 and 3 euros respectively.

The shared bathroom serves three rooms. While I stayed at the pension, other guests were clean and respectful, and there was never any mess. I only found the bathroom occupied once, so sharing it wasn’t a problem at all.

A stylish corner of the shared bathroom at A Boa Estrela Pension. The space features modern industrial lighting with exposed bulbs and black geometric cages, adding a touch of contemporary charm. A round mirror reflects the clean, minimalist aesthetic, while the rustic wooden countertop contrasts beautifully with the sleek, white vessel sink. The soft grey wall tiles and practical fixtures, like the paper towel dispenser and wall-mounted soap, complete the functional yet elegant design. A perfect mix of simplicity and modern style.

The stairs. I stayed on the first floor (which would be considered the second floor in my country), while the bathroom and laundry were located on the second floor.

Tourist tips sheet

A small kitchenette near the entrance of A Boa Estrela Pension offers everything you might need for a quick snack or drink. It’s equipped with a microwave, electric kettle, coffee machine, and a sink for washing up. There’s also a cereal dispenser for an easy breakfast, along with mugs, glasses, and basic utensils neatly stored on an open shelf. The rustic brick-style backsplash and wooden countertop create a cozy, welcoming vibe for guests

I really liked staying at A Boa Estrela Pension. The shared bathroom wasn’t an issue at all, the location is super convenient, and it’s an affordable choice for pilgrims needing a place for the night.
