Residencial Princesa do Ave – it is a small guesthouse in the town of Vila do Conde, run by the couple Alfonso and Odette. They themselves live here and therefore welcome their guests as members of their family. I felt very comfortable here.

As for the location of the guesthouse, it takes a 10-minute walk to reach the Lidl store. It may take a little less to get to the seaside promenade. The guesthouse is located in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by residential buildings, and in the evening the streets were empty. I couldn’t find any place for dinner nearby – all cafes and restaurants were closed.
I had a room for two on the second floor with a private bathroom and windows facing the street.
As for the furniture – in my room there were two beds, a table, chairs, and a large wardrobe. There was a television and a small refrigerator in the room, but no air conditioning. The bathroom had towels and sachets of shampoo and shower gel. The Wi-Fi was good.
The boarding house was quite charming and cozy, giving the feeling of staying with family by the seaside. The only thing I missed was some sort of mini kitchen to, for example, have a cup of tea.
