Hotel Scala is located on the main road, two kilometers from the town of Padrón in the direction of Santiago de Compostela. In fact, it’s not just a hotel, but a large hotel and restaurant complex. It features a swimming pool, a café-bar, several restaurants, and a venue for weddings. The hotel building is enormous, and it’s easy to get lost at first.
You can find descriptions of all the restaurants at the link https://www.hscala.com/restaurantes
Breakfast starts at 7 a.m. and offers pastries, yogurts, muesli, coffee, juices, cheese, and cold meats.
Standard room in Hotel Scala
This is my standard room at Hotel Scala. The room is quite spacious and has a classic, slightly old-fashioned style with green carpet and dark wood furniture. The bed is large and comfortable, and I loved how clean the sheets were. There’s a small TV mounted high on the wall, which is a bit tiny by today’s standards, and there’s no minibar, but that didn’t bother me much. The curtains are thick and block out the light well, which made it easy to sleep in. There’s also a desk and a couple of bedside tables with lamps, plus a telephone for room service or reception. Overall, it’s a simple but pleasant room — nothing luxurious, but definitely comfortable for a short stay.

This is the bathroom in the standard room at Hotel Scala. The fixtures are modern, and there are small toiletries provided, along with a hairdryer and plenty of towels. Everything is spotlessly clean and shines beautifully. The bathroom features white tiled walls and a marble-look tiled floor, giving it a bright and fresh appearance. There’s a wall-mounted hairdryer next to the mirror, a pedestal sink with a shelf above it, and a toilet. A waste bin is tucked neatly under the sink. The wooden door and trim add a classic touch to the otherwise modern look. Overall, it’s a simple but very clean and functional space.

Another view of the bathroom in the standard room at Hotel Scala. The highlight here is the modern shower with a sleek glass enclosure and a large rainfall showerhead, perfect for a relaxing shower after a long day. The fixtures look new and stylish, and there’s even a wall-mounted soap dispenser for convenience. The bright white tiles and spacious shower area make the bathroom feel clean and contemporary. Overall, it’s a very modern and well-equipped space.

Hotel interior and window views
This is one of the corridors in Hotel Scala, and it really shows how big the hotel is. The hallway is impressively long, stretching far into the distance, with doors to numerous rooms on both sides. A patterned carpet runner in shades of red and beige adds some warmth and color against the white walls and marble floor. Framed artwork decorates the walls, giving the space a touch of elegance. Walking down this endless hallway makes it clear that Hotel Scala is a very large hotel complex.

From the window of my room, there was a beautiful view of the mountains, a logistics center, and horses grazing in green fields. The scenery was a unique mix of nature and industry, with green vineyards, farmland, and distant hills under a partly cloudy sky. The bright yellow house with a red roof and a small blue swimming pool added a charming touch to the rural landscape.

Lunch and dinner at the café of Hotel Scala
For lunch, I ordered the traditional Galician soup, Caldo Gallego, which cost 8 euros. It’s a very hearty soup with plenty of ingredients, the main ones being potatoes, cabbage, and some kind of leafy greens.
Caldo Gallego is a traditional Galician soup from the northwest of Spain, known for its hearty and comforting flavors. It’s made with a delicious mix of potatoes, leafy greens like turnip tops or cabbage, white beans, and often bits of chorizo or pork for added depth. This rustic dish is especially popular during the colder months, offering a warm and satisfying meal. Each spoonful reflects the simple yet rich culinary heritage of Galicia.

For dinner, I went to the bar and ordered a beer and some crispy prawns (Langostinos Crujientes). They cost 18 euros and were really tasty.

I’m really happy with my stay at Hotel Scala. The place is clean and comfortable, with stylish interiors and a very modern bathroom. Breakfast was tasty, there are several restaurants to choose from, and the staff speak English.
